‘Pain & Gain’ Movie Review

Here’s a storyline that is actually a TRUE story. After a few minutes you will forget that you are watching a true story (with of course some Hollywood add ons) because the storyline becomes unbelievable. This true story is depicted from 1994-95; watch closely to see if they keep to the “90’s” happenings, lol. In my opinion, this is a “guy’s” movie and most men will enjoy the ride. There’s a lot of humor that will probably keep a woman’s attention. Not a chick-flick (even with The Rock in it). Ladies, let the men have their evening out with this one. A bit long, 130 mins. with lots of rated R moments. In theatres 4/26.

3 out of 5 stars (The Rock being in this movie helped the rating to 3 stars otherwise 2 1/2 stars).

‘The Big Wedding’ Movie Review

There’s a plethora of talent in this movie that can’t seem to keep this movie afloat. There are laughable moments and some quite raunchy yet the storyline just doesn’t blend the characters together well. The good thing is that the movie is only 90 mins. long, therefore, you won’t feel as if you wasted a lot your time. This movie may appeal more to a seasoned aged demographic. 2 1/2 stars out of 5. In theatres 4/26.

‘Mud’ Movie Review

Matthew McConaughey stars in this drama and it’s probably his best movie in a couple years. The movie is 130 minutes (a bit too long) yet it holds your interest for the most part. The two younger actors Tye Sheridan & Jacob Lofland both deliver compelling performances that keeps the movie rolling along (especially with humor). I didn’t think Reese Witherspoon’s character added anything to the movie and her role could have been edited out. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and it’s worth catching. In theatres 4/26/13.

‘Oblivion’ Movie Review

3 stars of 5

When you think of Tom Cruise you usually think of high tech films with all the bells and whistles. I would definitely recommend everyone seeing this movie in IMAX. The movie is visualy stunning. The storyline is a bit weak, therefore, the movie is driven by it’s special effects. Morgan Freeman’s role is lackluster yet it’s always great to see him in yet another movie that will gross Millions. Fans of ‘Games of Thrones’ character Jaime Lannister will enjoy seeing Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

In theatres nationally on today 4/19.

‘Disconnect’ Movie Review

2 1/2 stars of 5

A slow paced movie with a storyline about today’s fast paced world with technology. The storyline gives thought to what we share about ourselves via all social networks and the dangers that can happen. Not a great movie yet your awareness of your identity via the internet gives room for thought. National release 4/19.
