‘Black or White’ Movie Review

What a great film! Heartwarming, great acting, and a little humor will keep you engaged throughout and wondering what the outcome is going to be of the character, Eloise. She loses her mom at birth and her maternal grandmother a few years later. Who’s gonna get custody of her? Her paternal grandmother who loves her yet hasn’t spent a lot of time with her, her father who for many reasons is not capable to care for her or her maternal grandfather who she has lived with all of her life yet he’s an alcoholic. A great ensemble cast consisting of Anthony Mackie, Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer. Another notable performance from Paula Newsome who portrays Judge Cummins.

‘Unbroken’ Movie Review

What an absolutely great film that was snubbed for major category Oscar nominations. Angelina Jolie does a great job directing this true story that will engage your mind the entire time. Great acting and screenplay. This movie will inspire anyone with doubts in their life.

‘American Sniper’ Movie Review

What an outstanding film! Well acted and directed. Bradley Cooper earned his Oscar nomination; Clint Eastwood did a great job directing although he wasn’t nominated for a Best Director award but the movie is nominated for Best Picture. This film is based on the book written by Chris Kyle a.k.a. “The Legend” who survived four tours in Iraq and had the best sniper record to date from the Navy Seals. I really love any movie about the Seals as they rock to me! This is a great film and I enjoyed it as much as ‘Lone Survivor’ that was released last year and didn’t get the Oscar recognition it should have.

‘The Wedding Ringer’ Movie Review

This is a funny laugh-out-loud movie. Great dancing from both lead actors, Kevin Hart and Josh Gad. They’re characters have great chemistry which leads to them developing a bro-mance, lol, in a “business” arrangement. Doug (Josh) hires Jimmy (Kevin) to be his best man and bestie leading up to his wedding. Lots of funny scenes leading up to the wedding day. Old school football players add to the humor. There are raunchy scenes so don’t take the younger tween. Get ready to get your “dougie” dance together, lol.

‘Taken 3’ Movie Review

The “alleged” final movie in this franchise was pretty good to. The first ‘Taken’ was and still is a classic and both sequels together aren’t as good. Contrary to popular polls I’ve read, this movie did hold my interest and I ended up liking it better than the 2nd installment. I’ve always hoped that Bryan’s daughter Kim would learn some of his skills and get it on the action but she never does. I didn’t know Forest Whitaker was in the film but it was a welcomed surprise. We’ll see if this one is “really” the last one, lol.

‘Selma’ Movie Review

Riveting, touching, inspirational and a must see film for ALL. This is such a wonderfully filmed movie. David Oyelowo gives a stellar performance as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Great acting from the entire cast. It’s so touching that I can’t imagine a tear welling in everyone’s eyes.
