‘The Hateful Eight’ Movie Review

If you’re a Quentin Tarantino fan, then this one doesn’t disappoint. I actually liked the movie and found it quite funny…Samuel L. Jackson keeps the movie going the entire three hours (12 minute intermission). I saw it in 70 mm film and didn’t see a difference from a digital film, IJS. Just as ‘D’Jango’ prepare yourself to hear the N-word A LOT. Great performances from an all-star ensemble cast.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Movie Review

Star Wars banner

I think diehard Star Wars fans will be happy! I’m not a diehard fan yet I’ve seen all the movies and enjoyed them…I liked this one as well. I saw it in Real D 3D and I’d say it’s worth purchasing. I plan to see it in IMAX soon. I do think I need a refresher on the other six movies, lol. I missed seeing a couple of faces…. Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie (from #GOT); my next go round I guess I’ll see them, lol, I believe Lupita’s character is masked the entire time so I know what part she played.  P.S.  NO end credit scene.

‘Krampus’ Movie Review

What an utterly dark and creepy movie depicted around Christmas with a somewhat recognizable cast. Some humor yet it was on the borderline of my tolerance of horror movies. There will probably be a sequel.

‘In the Heart of the Sea’ Movie Review

In the heart of the sea banner

I’m glad I don’t follow the negative reviews of movies because I ended up liking this movie. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was good…not so many scenes that the 3D popped so that part could be saved on the ticket. This movie is about the story of brave whalers who ran across Moby Dick and attempted to end this massive whales’ life as it followed and pursued them across the Atlantic Ocean. The storyline is not Oscar worthy yet I enjoyed it. Once again, it was good to see a former #GOT actor on the big screen, Michelle Fairley a.k.a. Catelyn Stark.

‘Brooklyn’ Movie Review

Brooklyn banner

Here’s a sure fire chick-flick depicted from the 1950’s. This is a truly romantic movie that you think you know how it’s going to end but a twist happens and makes you wonder, what exactly is going to happen? I really enjoyed the lead character Eilis love of love but I almost thought I would end up not liking the character as the movie drew to an end.

‘The Letters’ Movie Review

I always only heard and read great things about Mother Teresa so I enjoyed learning how her journey began. She was a woman who loved God and loved doing the good works of Jesus Christ to all mankind.

‘Chi-Raq’ Movie Review

Chi Raq banner

I haven’t liked or enjoyed a Spike Lee film in many years. I was so leery to see this movie but I must say the premise of the storyline and the message makes this a movie of Spike’s that I’ve enjoyed in a long time (believe it or not). Now, there’s so much sex and vulgar language that you may not be able to focus of the message. A lot of the dialogue is spoken in “riddle form” so it helped me to focus on the words and the message. A great ensemble cast with Nick Cannon doing a pretty good job; Jennifer Hudson has a small role yet most of it she spends crying about a tragedy; John Cusack also has a good performance. Quite controversial referring to Chicago as an “Iraq” type land yet the statistics stand for themselves.
