‘Hello, My Name Is Doris’ Movie Review

Doris banner

Here’s a movie for a range of ages. Doris is an older woman who develops a BIG crush on a much younger new employee at the company she works for. Going in I really couldn’t believe that two people with such a big age gap could connect romantically. I won’t give away the end. The storyline with the laughs held my attention and overall I liked it from the perspective of both main characters.

‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ Movie Review

My big fat greek wedding banner

Sometimes sequels get it all wrong but this one got it right! Lots of laughs and warm family sentiment greek style. I needed to watch the first film that was a box office hit (I couldn’t remember seeing the entire movie) to make a good comparison of the two films. I think it’s a movie that all will enjoy.

‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Movie Review

Batman superman banner

Well, everyone was wondering why Batman and Superman were fighting and we now know. Of course, Lex Luthor is all up in the midst. For awhile, I thought the franchise had a total reboot with the add of Ben Affleck as Batman yet Superman’s human parents remain the same. I liked Ben better as Bruce Wayne than actually being Batman. This new batsuit was a bit spacey looking to me with the sorta moon boots and tin man type suit. I’m still liking Christian Bale as the best Batman especially because of that sweet motorcycle. Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is a good add. I enjoyed seeing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in the fight scene (which was probably my favorite scene). Henry is a great Superman and I enjoyed seeing him again in this role. Ben and Henry have nice “eye candy” shirt off scenes for the ladies 🙂 No end credit scene. I saw it in 3D and it was good…I will see it in IMAX soon. Nice scenes of Metro Detroit where a good portion of the movie was shot where Ben and Henry were seen a lot out in public. P.S. nice sneak peak of other D.C. Comic characters.

‘The Bronze’ Movie Review

The Bronze_poster

I didn’t know what to expect going in but all in all it was a decent movie with lots of humor. Essentially a washed up former Olympian can’t get her “real” life together after an injury. The opportunity arises to coach an up and coming Olympian but she’ll only do it for inheritance momne. A few raunchy scenes with lots of bad language.

‘Miracles from Heaven’ Movie Review

Miracles from Heaven banner

Based on a true story (and a book) this movie is inspirational and a great faith based film for the entire family to see together. The movie is about a little girl who develops a stomach disease and there’s no cure for it. She has a bad fall and a miracle happens. It was different seeing Jennifer Garner in a movie like this; her acting is good yet I thought some of the dialogue seemed different for her. This is a T. D. Jakes film and again it’s a good one. Yes, this is a tearjerker.

‘The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1’ Movie Review

allegiant 2 banner

Pretty cool! I’d agree with most critics that this is the best in the Divergent series. I enjoyed the mostly futuristic scenes and all of the action scenes. I saw it in IMAX and it was great! The storyline was good and held my attention. I did miss seeing two of the favorite villains thus far in this franchise (one from the last movie and another is a goner in this film). I didn’t wait to see if there’s an end credit scene 😦

’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Movie Review

10 Cloverfield

Well, I did see ‘Cloverfield’ in 2008 and it was strange as was this movie that may or may not be a sequel. It starts off as a thriller/drama/mystery movie that tried my nerve level of thriller movies, lol. You think for awhile that this is a creepy movie about a man abducting a woman and then it gets all sci-fi the last 15 minutes or so. Laughable and strange.

‘The Brothers Grimsby’ Movie Review

The brothers grimsby banner

Fans of Sasha will get exactly what they expect. I’m not a fan of his movies yet I decided to see one. Yes, it’s funny and some scenes laugh out loud yet you also have to deal with the gross nudity, cheesy lines and overall ridiculousness (if that’s a word) of everything. There’s a quick end credit scene.

‘The Young Messiah’ Movie Review

Young Messiah banner

This is a great movie for the entire family to see together especially leading up to Resurrection Sunday (and Easter). The storyline is the imagined life of The Messiah, Jesus Christ as a little boy, age 7. It is inspirational to even think about the power The Messiah had as a child yet along see this depiction. I would like to see another movie in the depiction of Christ as a child with a much bigger budget and a storyline that follows the Holy Bible. Sean Bean from Season 1 of #GOT is in this film.

‘The Perfect Match’ Movie Review

I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy this movie! The storyline is good and not so predictable. There’s lots of humor with an ensemble cast that has great chemistry. Chick flick but good.
