‘Love & Friendship’ Movie Review

Love and Friendship banner

Fans of Jane Austen books I’m sure will flock to the theatre. Having never read any of her books yet the last film based on her book “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” was entertaining to me (yet didn’t fare well on the big screen). I had high hopes that this film would be a good one along with the laughs that I expected. I found that other than the laughs, I didn’t follow the storyline as it is slow (other than the laughs that you might miss if you don’t concentrate on the film).

‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ Movie Review

Alice through the looking glass banner

Here’s the 2nd installment in this franchise and much like the first movie it was entertaining and overall I liked it. I think this one is even more visually lush on the screen (IMAX 3D). All of the favorite and not so favorite characters are back to give us a whimsical journey.

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Movie Review

Xmen a banner 2

This is pretty much another Marvel superhero movie…that’s fine because I give it a thumbs up! It’s a little long because the first hour builds up the storyline. Some familiar faces and new faces as the X-Men…it’s always fun to see the characters younger (of course, one fave makes a cameo at his current age). I saw it in RealD 3D and it was pretty good. Don’t forget…stay until the screen turns BLACK…there’s an end credit scene (which I really didn’t get or like, lol). Sophie Turner does a great job as a young Jean (I’m always happy to see #GOT actors on the big screen).

‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’ Movie Review

The Man Who Knew Infinity banner

Based on the true story, I enjoyed learning about Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar journey to become a pioneer in mathematical theories with the guidance of his professor, G.H. Hardy. He earns admittance to Cambridge University during WWI coming from an impoverished child hood in India. Sad story.

‘The Nice Guys’ Movie Review

I totally enjoyed this movie…or was I watching a really funny 70’s cop caper on the big screen? This movie is worthy of being on the big screen and I think Ryan and Russell have great chemistry. The storyline keeps you entertained and expect many laugh out loud moments. Great 70’s music and wardrobe. Somewhat cheesy but enjoyable. There should be a sequel to this one.

‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’ Movie Review

Sometimes sequels don’t add up yet I thought this one did. Some of the funniest scenes unfortunately are in the trailers. Overall, I liked it and think it’s worth checking out especially if you saw the first film (which I rated 3.5 stars).

‘Angry Birds’ Movie Review

I’ve never played the game so I’m sure quite a few things related to the game went straight over my head. Overall, I liked the movie that’s family friendly. Lots of laughs and pretty good in RealD 3D.

‘Money Monster’ Movie Review

I wasn’t excited to see this movie as I usually don’t like George Clooney movies (minus the Ocean movies) yet I was surprised to like this one! There’s lots of humor, good acting and drama. Not a long movie so it held my attention.

‘Sing Street’ Movie Review

Somewhat of a coming of age movie for a young boy who’s fascinated by a young girl. I enjoyed seeing the musical journey of the lead character with his friends as his band.

‘Captain America: Civil War’ Movie Review

Captain America Civil War banner

I’m a Marvel fan, therefore, this is a winner-winner! I consider this movie an ‘Avengers’ movie because so many of them are in this one and a couple new ones (to the big screen) are introduced. The fight scenes are epic and it’s hard to choose a side. I went in undecided on which team I was on #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan If you’re an ‘Avengers’ fan you’ll love this one. There’s lots of humor. If you can see it in IMAX 3D, I’d recommend it! As usual, don’t leave until the screen goes black…there are two end credit scenes. P.S. I liked the new characters of #BlackPanther and #Spiderman (there independent movies should be great).
