‘The Shallows’ Movie Review

I didn’t expect much going in because I knew it was about a killer shark that would more than likely be killed by the end of the movie. I’d say the storyline was believable and the up-close shots of the shark were great. I did enjoy how the shark was taken out as it wasn’t so predictable. The movie almost reminds you of ‘Cast Away’ as there’s basically only one character yet a few others leading to the main scenes of the movie.

‘Free State of Jones’ Movie Review

free state of jones

Based on a true story about a man who leads a group of rebels (black and white) in their on own war against the confederate army. This story is told of accounts that happened in the 1860’s. There’s also a second storyline of the lead character Newton Knights’ son in court fighting for the right to marry a white woman; he’s white yet facts state he’s bi-racial and it was against the law for him to marry a white woman.

‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ Movie Review

Independence Day banner 2

The twenty year wait for a sequel has finally arrived and is it worth it? I thought the storyline was just okay. The movie is visually stunning especially in IMAX 3D as I saw it in. It was nice to see the character favorites back on the screen but not all of them survive this sequel. It’s a summertime popcorn movie. There’s a hint of a sequel in the storyline yet no end credit scene. I’m sure the sequel depends on ticket sales opening weekend.

‘Finding Dory’ Movie Review

Finding Dory banner

Fans of ‘Finding Nemo’ I feel will be pleased with this film. Of course, Pixar doesn’t disappoint on the big screen with lush colors and just an absolutely beautiful screen to view especially in IMAX 3D (which I saw it in). There’s humor and sentiment and an overall Summer movie flick winner for the child at heart.

‘Central Intelligence’ Movie Review

Central Intelligence banner

I guess it was inevitable that these two would co-star in a movie based on their size…big vs. small, lol. Somewhat cheesy and unrealistic gun shoot out scenes (lots of bullets with a rare hit) yet it was still entertaining and had a message about bullying. The movie out-takes at the end were funnier than scenes in the movie. Three A-List celebrities make cameo appearances.

‘Warcraft’ Movie Review

Warcraft banner 1

I’m not familiar with the video game series or books yet I’m always drawn to a fantasy type movie. I enjoyed this movie especially in IMAX 3D. The storyline is easy enough to follow and almost everything about this movie reminded me of Game of Thrones and the Lord of the Rings franchise, lol. The cgi is sometimes not so good and understanding the orcs when they talk was a bit challenging yet overall I liked it and especially the battle scenes. I hadn’t paid attention to the actors cast and was surprised to see Paula Patton. This one ended with a set-up to a sequel.

‘Now You See Me 2’ Movie Review

Now you see me banner 2

I really enjoyed the first movie as I did this one yet it isn’t as captivating as the first. The storyline is okay and there’s still humor but it didn’t draw me in this time yet I would recommend fans of the original movie to see this one.

‘The Lobster’ Movie Review

The Lobster movie banner

This is the weirdest movie I’ve seen in a couple years or so, lol. Although weird it held my attention because I didn’t know what to expect. If you have some time to spare, check it out, I’m not saying you will like it but it’s definitely thought and conversation provoking.

‘Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping’ Movie Review

Popstar banner

Here’s a movie that not my genre for many reasons, lol, and that’s why a lot of things went over my head. Depending on your exposure to certain things you’ll feel the same as me. Expect lots of gross humor; not too bad but nothing I’d refer anyone to. It’s only ninety six minutes but it didn’t end soon enough for me. LOTS of celebrity appearances and a couple with character lines.

‘Me Before You’ Movie Review

Me before you banner

This big screen chick flick is based on the book of the same name. In the end this movie is a winner-winner and I thought both lead characters had great chemistry. This is a beautiful love story in the making yet quite sad….bring tissues. I enjoyed seeing Emilia Clarke and Charles Dance in scenes together because neither actor shared a scene together in #GOT before the elder Lannister was murdered on the Show.
