‘Despicable Me 3’ Movie Review

DM3 Banner

I can’t say that I’m a big fan of this franchise (maybe the minions) yet I really did enjoy this third installment. It’s funny and has a storyline that will keep adults engaged. The minions pop up here and there and add their funny. I saw it in 3D and it was pretty good. Good animated flick for all to enjoy.

‘The House’ Movie Review

Not being a Will Ferrell fan, I was happy that I ended up laughing (and sometimes out loud) at this movie. All of the characters had chemistry with one another. Don’t expect a storyline that makes any sense…this one is for laughs only. The outtakes are funny as well. Pharrell has new music in this movie.

‘Baby Driver’ Movie Review

I didn’t expect to like this movie as there was a similar movie released not long ago (and it was horrible). This movie has heart in the development of the lead character, Baby. There’s fast driving that leaves you thinking, how did they get away? Some scenes are not realistic but this is a movie.  It held my attention the entire time.

‘Beatriz at Dinner’ Movie Review

Beatriz at Dinner banner

What starts as a weird comedy turns dark and then even darker. Salma’s character is as friendly as can be yet her views and judgment about another character shifts the storyline to what seems a thrilling ending but the dark ending is yet to come.

‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Movie Review

Transformers 5 banner.jpg

This is another franchise that I’m a BIG fan of so for the most part the director can do no wrong.  What I enjoyed most is that the franchise brought back familiar faces (and a last name) from the first three films (not Tyrese though, which I missed and the newcomer love interest for Mark Wahlberg is a dead ringer for Megan Fox). Lots of action and humor.  I saw it in Dolby and it was great!  My next viewing will be in IMAX 3D. And YES, there is an end credit scene not long after the movie ends (nothing when the screen goes black).

‘The Book of Henry’ Movie Review

This is a really good film!  I was pleasantly surprised with the storyline and how it shifted to a thriller/drama after starting out lighthearted with a serious topic.

‘Cars 3’ Movie Review

The first movie in this franchise is a classic and I think this one redeems the franchise.  It’s funny enough with heartwarming scenes amongst the original characters and new ones.  I saw it in IMAX (without 3D) and it was great.

’47 Meters Down’ Movie Review

47 Meters Down banner

If you suspect it may be cheesy, they you’re right, lol.  When you’re told to stay inside the cage do so, or get what’s coming. There are suspenseful scenes that will make you jump and laugh.  There are sort of two endings and you have to decide which one is real. Overall not bad.

‘Rough Night’ Movie Review

This movie made me laugh from beginning to end.  A fun and silly storyline turns a little dark but because of “another” crime it turns funny again.  Fun and funny girls night out movie.

‘All Eyez on Me’ Movie Review

All Eyez on Me banner

I’m familiar with some of the music of the musical legend Tupac Shakur and I only knew a little of his story.  This movie gave me insight to his journey and purpose through music.  Had he survived the shooting I know his impact on music would be more impactful now.  I did enjoy hearing the music from the 90’s.  I wish the actors from ‘Straight Outta Compton’ that are the same in this movie had portrayed the same artists.  A couple of characters seemed to have the real artist voice dubbed into the movie which was great.  I saw this movie with the #DolbyTheatre experience and it was great!
