‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Movie Review

This prequel that shows us how Han Solo, Chewebacca and Lando and a few others met one another and started their now legendary journies together. The screen is visually stunning in IMAX. The storyline is good enough for a sequel and will satisfy Star Wars fans in my opinion. There are no end credit scenes. It was also fun seeing one of #GOT favorite characters, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

‘Show Dogs’ Movie Review

Show Dogs banner

There’s nothing serious about this movie so go in expecting laughs and a fun nature movie about dogs. The CGI isn’t good… this is a light hearted family movie (pretty cheesy though yet sometimes cheesy isn’t bad).

‘Book Club’ Movie Review

Book Club banner

The trailers seemed funny enough and the movie is funny enough for a like. The all-star ensemble cast gathers for a monthly book club ready of ‘Fifty Shades’ and to say the least, seasoned women are not boring.

‘Deadpool 2’ Movie Review

Deadpool 2 banner

If you loved the bad mouth Deadpool in the original movie then you will love more of what he dishes out in this sequel. More everything concerning Deadpool with a splash of the X-Men mutants which I really enjoyed. There are two end credit scenes (nothing when the screen turns black). I’m a big Marvel fan so this movie is a go kicking off the un-official start of Summer. I saw it in Dolby and will probably see it again in IMAX.

4.5 stars (it was a hard decision to not rate it 5 stars)

‘Breaking In’ Movie Review

Breaking In banner

When you mess with children, a mother will come for you as does Gabrielle Union’s character. There are lots of thrilling scenes and kick-butt action. The storyline gets right to the point and doesn’t disappoint. The movie never explains what Gabrielle’s character training in fighting came from.

‘Life of the Party’ Movie Review

Life of the Party banner

I didn’t have any good expectations and I was pleasantly surprised that the movie is fun and funny with a cast that has chemistry. The premise of a mom going back to college joining her daughter there can be a hit or a miss and this one is a hit. Lots of fun nostalgia from the 90’s. There’s a cameo from Christina Aguilera.

‘Bad Samaritan’ Movie Review

Bad Samaritan banner

I don’t recall seeing any television advertising yet the description of the movie caught my interest.  Intense and some scenes are gory.  There are a few weak lines/scenes yet the movie had my attention the whole time.

‘Overboard’ Movie Review

This is a remake and I haven’t seen the decades old original movie.  There are laughs in a weak and predictable storyline.  I just didn’t find myself laughing at the meant to be funny scenes.  Heads up:  there are LOTS of subtitled scenes for those who do not speak Spanish.

‘Tully’ Movie Review

The movie starts as a dramedy which I liked and preferred as this mom is making the best of motherhood of three children.  There’s a slight shift about sexuality (mild) and ends with the seriousness of recognizing and coping with post partum.
