‘Leave No Trace’ Movie Review

lnt

I finally got a chance to check this out on DVD.  I never saw (noticed) the film in a Metro Detroit theatre.  The eccentric choice of lifestyle is exhibited by a dad who wants to do right by his daughter.  Her love for her father kept her with him until she decided she wanted a different life.  I became more interested in seeing this film when President Obama listed this film as one of his 2018 favorite movies.

‘The Kid Who Would Be King’ Movie Review

kid who

I’m a big fan of adventure-medieval type movies and this one keeps me enjoying the genre.  The demographic is definitely for tweens or a little younger yet really young children may find a few scenes a bit scary.  This is a medieval journey mixed into 2019.  A good family film.

‘Stan & Ollie’ Movie Review

Stan and Ollie

For those born in this era or those of us that watched the re-runs as children on tv, you will find this film delightfully heartwarming and knowledgeable of two of the most well-known comedy teams.  This film shares the challenges they faces even as popular as they were.  Their friendship was one that most people dreamed of.

‘Serenity’ Movie Review

serenity

I actually thought this movie was sci-fi because of the different point of views the main characters could take on. A-listers line of the cast yet the storyline fails to connect everything and everyone in my opinion. How the movie ends doesn’t make sense with the mature scenes.

‘Destroyer’ Movie Review

Destroyer movie.png

This is probably Nicole Kidman’s grittiest role ever! Her acting is good yet there’s a struggle for character development and storyline to mesh. The storyline is slow in explaining how she became a destroyer. There are a few scenes that are unbelievable would happen to a cop.

‘Glass’ Movie Review

glass banner

Well, I have yet to rent and watch ‘Unbreakable’ yet I did see ‘Split’ (unknowingly that it was connected to ‘Unbreakable’). I didn’t think the movie was scary at all (genre doesn’t say so yet ‘Split’ was scary to me). For the most part it was okay with McAvoy giving a great performance with those personality changes. I probably need to watch ‘Unbreakable’ to see how they all tie in. Definitely more sci-fi than anything this time. No end credit scene, therefore, it’s hard to say if a new trilogy will be birthed. The Dolby experience was great!

‘Ben is Back’ Movie Review

ben is back

What a wild roller coaster of immediate tensed scenes when Ben decides to leave his treatment center for a surprise visit home on Christmas Eve. Ben’s presence seems to be upsetting to his blended family and everyone he knows in his hometown. Great acting and a pretty good movie with enough of the back story told to explain things. I didn’t quite agree with the exact ending but some may. Definitely worth checking out.

‘Replicas’ Movie Review

replicas

This is a wild, cheesy and laugh out loud at times sci-fi flick.  A tragedy causes a scientist to experiment on his own family and so the journey begins.

‘A Dog’s Way Home’ Movie Review

dogs way

Whether you are a pet lover or not, your heart strings will play great music to this film.  Based on the popular novel, is the dog’s narrative of her journey back to her true love first human owner.  A great family movie for all.

‘The Upside’ Movie Review

upside

Based on a true story and 2011 French movie we have an equally heartwarming journey with this new cast.  Love, respect and humor are overflowing, as well as , the healing of all types of hurt.  A good film for all to enjoy.  Several Aretha Franklin songs are played as a tribute to her; note, the posted tribute to her at the end.
