‘Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ Movie Review

Honestly, I have to see this again…I was so busy with work emails etc… that I couldn’t concentrate on the lines…yet the visuals are great in IMAX. It did remind me a little (of old school Godzilla movies), in a good nostalgic way. I don’t really think the storyline is meant to be serious or engaging, it’s all about the kind of monsters, Godzilla and more monsters, lol. NOTE: there’s an end credit scene.

‘Rocketman’ Movie Review

Rocketman

Executive produced by Elton John in his fantastical view of mind is his story of his early life and when and how he became Elton John. The movie is a musical to me yet the genres state others. I didn’t like the fantasy portions of the movie. It would have been better as a drama with his songs being sang.

‘Aladdin’ Movie Review

I didn’t go in expecting to see a duplication of the animated 1992 classic; I rated this movie as a re-inventing of the original, with that, I enjoyed the film. Disney of course didn’t disappoint with the lush colors and eye-popping scenes. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was great. The music is fun (a couple of the originals are not sang as well) and it entertained me.

‘Booksmart’ Movie Review

booksmart

This is a coming of age movie yet the two lead characters are female besties. Their friendship is platonic; just before high school graduation both girls decide to party like its 1999 as they have been book worms their entire lives. Their fun gets wilder by the hour and the laughs never stop. Worth checking out. Definitely not for young children.

‘Trial by Fire’ Movie Review

Trial

Based on a true story of three children dying in a house fire yet there father gets out alive and barely injured. Murder or just an accident? Well, while he was on death row, the state of Texas was found negligent in the findings that had Cameron arrested and executed. All of the facts of the case are still not confirmed yet it has been proven that the evidence that convicted him is not true. Decent acting. Pay attention to the immediate beginning.

‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum’ Movie Review

John Wick

What a whirlwind of high impact nonstop intense gory action scenes. This franchise started because the revenge of a dog was the premise. This storyline was simple yet corny and confusing. This three-quel is the start of Summertime popcorn movies that’s enjoyable for the entertainment. A definite setup for part 4. I viewed this high octane movie in IMAX and it was great. Shout out to Halle Berry on a great performance with her badddd dogs. Her character should have had more on screen time.

‘The Sun Is Also a Star’ Movie Review

Based on a very popular novel, is a coming of age “in a day” movie. First love still exists for some especially when there’s a timeline. Tweens will really enjoy the movie. Okay, yet I expected more and a couple of things didn’t tie well together. I didn’t read the book.

‘Tolkien’ Movie Review

I believe this is loosely based on J.R.R. Tolkien the imaginative mind behind Lord of the Rings. This storyline is slow and there are pop-ups of his later in life creation of L.O.T.R. Not worth checking out.
