‘The Farewell’ Movie Review

The Farewell

Based on a lie yet a very true story is this heartwarming family drama filled with humor. Mostly subtitles, (with maybe 5-10 percent of English) you were still bound to stay focused on the storyline. I saw the movie at #TheMapleArt theatre in Bloomfield, MI where Executive Producer, Eddie Rubin, from Bloomfield answered questions after the movie.

‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’ Movie Review

Once Upon a time

Quentin Tarantino movies can be a hit or miss since the Kill Bill movies, and this one is a miss for me. Yes, there’s lot of corny humor yet the gory fight scenes made me squirm (yes Kill Bill was gory but just different all together and maybe because of “who” did the gory scenes). Wasn’t my type of movie.

Art of Self Defense

Even when you read the synopsis of a movie it can sometimes still not prepare you for what’s ahead, so I wasn’t prepared for the gory scenes in this movie. I expected cheesiness and stupid humor yet the storyline turned dark and too gory.

‘The Lion King’ Movie Review

Lion KIng

Based of course on the classic 1994 animated film, we have the live-action version story, which is a winner! Of course, beautifully stunning as only #Disney does it. From what I remember (I have to watch the original again) this storyline follows the original and the cgi of the animals is fantastic with great music! A family fun Summertime movie to enjoy. My first viewing was in Dolby and it was great!

‘I Got the Hook Up 2’ Movie Review

I expected the senselessness it all yet although being an independent movie, I didn’t expect to not be able to hear the movie! SMH, the audio of the background music was so loud that it was VERY hard to hear scenes, even when some of them were funny. There are end credit/outtake scenes until the screen goes black.

Crawl

A bit cheesy with the back story of swimming competitions and adult children dealing with their parents divorce. The alligators are the stars and they bring it! 3D would be great viewing. Entertaining enough for a Summertime movie.

Stuber

Laughs start in the beginning and continue throughout the entire movie! Stu and the cop have great chemistry in what starts as a drama and turn into funny comedy.

‘Wild Rose’ Movie Review

What a surprise hit movie! It’s drama filled and heartwarming. A mom who made bad decisions as a youth put her on a path of a hard life and two babies to tow along with all the drama. Yes, she can sing yet which does she love more, her children or a county singer career? Some of the lines are hard to decipher as the heavy English accent is present.

Although the horror is in the daylight which may it less frightening I left wanting my 2 hrs and 20 mins back. The cult like storyline is draining and senseless.

‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’ Movie Review

Well, the this is the first official Marvel film after #Endgame. There’s a music/pic homage to the fallen? All of the antics of a Marvel film are there yet I didn’t think the new bad guy so bad. Funny with a couple of surprises. We’re back to staying until the screen turns black (two end credit scenes). The Dolby experience was great!
