‘The Great Alaskan Race’ Movie Review

Alaskan Race

Based on a true story from 1925 when a small town in Alaska was plagued with a flu virus and a dog sledding team had to battle a major blizzard in record time to save many from dying. Thankfully the dogs and their leaders made it through with the anti-virus as a plane would never have been able to fly in such horrific weather and temperatures. This movie definitely could have been released on television yet I do love a true story.

‘Jesus is King’ Movie Review

Jesus is King

Other than a “short film” which is usually animated, you will probably never see another film this short, that is 31 minutes long. This is the big screen view for the world to see a snippet of Kanye Wests’ Sunday service. Quite frankly it was anointed from beginning to end. Too bad I didn’t make it to performance in Detroit. The focus is Jesus’ Word through music and it remains there.

‘The Current War: Director’s Cut’ Movie Review

Current War

Based on true accounts of Thomas Edison discovering electricity and how George Westinghouse was fast on heels for any and all creative credentials. With a new director finishing the film we have a fast paced 1800’s era of “last name” geniuses in one storyline. I found the premise of the story quite engaging and it led me to google during the film and read more afterwards. If you’re a history buff like me, you will enjoy it.

‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ Movie Review

It took a few years but the sequel to the hugely popular dark fairytale returns. This film is PG, I’m sure, to get younger viewers. The movies starts “dark” and lightens up yet there are enough scenes to probably still scare younger children. I viewed it in IMAX and it was great.

‘Zombieland: Double Tap’ Movie Review

Zombieland

I don’t recall seeing the first in this franchise so I didn’t have a preconceived expectation, therefore, I was pleased at all of the silly humor. These are the fastest zombies I’ve ever seen, lol, with a cast that kept the humor going. Worth checking out. There are end of movie credits and a last scene before the screen goes black.

‘Lucy in the Sky’ Movie Review

As much as I love sci-fi films, especially those that are based on true accounts…there’s nothing I even liked about this one. I don’t recall “Lucy” having her niece or anyone with her when she confronted her lover…the diaper wearing wasn’t even mentioned. I would say another case of mental health illness was addressed.

So, a man buys a new cell phone and his voice activated phone escort “Jexi” becomes his bff and more. This movie is meant for laughs and that it did garner. Very raunchy.

‘Gemini Man’ Movie Review

When your doppleganger chases you to take you out, you have to show the “copy” that you’re the original. That’s what Will Smith’s character is facing in this high-octane action movie. Storyline is predictable yet the cgi and action is awesome. I saw it in IMAX and it was great.

‘The Addams Family’ Movie Review

This animated version of a television show that I watched as a child (which was already an old show on tv 🙂 is the best thus far. I laughed at all the ghoulish comedy and silly horror. Fun and funny for all to enjoy. I saw it in 3D and it was great!
