‘Da 5 Bloods’ Netflix Movie Review

This film definitely has the usual Spike Lee vibe of combining historical footage and current day happenings. We find 4 long time friends who fought together in Vietnam. They decide that the time is right to go back to Nam to collect two things left behind. Old secrets are revealed and knowledge of secrets left there are revealed. The story bounces around yet there are scenes that are relevant of today’s Black Lives Matter movement. Marvin Gay’s “What’s Going On” is played throughout in different arrangements. Delroy Lindo delivers a good performance.

‘The Last Days of American Crime’ Netflix Movie Review

Now showing on Netflix, you will find this grimy crime thriller with a fair amount of gory scenes. There are a few different side bar storylines going on that don’t figure into the main storyline and aids in the way too long run time of just about 2 1/2 hours. If you’re bored watch it, if not I didn’t find it engaging and finished in two settings.

‘The Wrong Missy’ Netflix Movie Review

Well, a comedy is needed now yet along with some laughs you have to deal with long drawn out scenes that “attempt” to be funny.

‘The Vast of Night’ Movie Review

This movie is streaming now on various platforms. I had heard the buzz about this film so I ventured in…and I wasn’t so fulfilled. I love sci-fi movies yet this one didn’t deliver. This was a mesh between ‘Twilight Zone’ and ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind’ and that’s not a bad mixture yet this isn’t one I enjoyed even with the suspense and sci-fi.
