Based on the true story of composer Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges, the illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner. I love historical movies and I enjoyed learning about Chevalier.
Based on a true story from 1955, when Emmett Till was murdered by racists. The horrffic scenes of the murder are not depicted yet the grief of a mother is and those scenes are riveting. Danielle Deadwyler’s performance is worthy of many acting awards. Definitely a tearjerker.
Based on the legendary King of Rock N Roll this biography either educates you or gives you fond memories. The music is iconic and the actor portraying him gives a great rendition of the King’s music and dancing. The biography is long and unfortunately has this 3rd narrator by the King’s manager (whom I didn’t know really cheated him out of a lot of money). It was a corny narrative that was needed…just a movie with decent acting and reliving the music and dancing was all that was needed.
Based on the true story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz during the height of their popular comedy television show. The behind the scenes of their marriage is also told which ultimately led to their divorce which was filed on the last day the comedy show was filmed.
This film doesn’t open in theatres until Christmas day yet I saw it at a paid showing over this past weekend. Based on a true story (book as well) we have a soldier called back to active duty yet he has found a new love. Their love story (somewhat predictable) is told and how he left a legacy of love in his journal to his son Jordan. A tearjerker at the end. NOTE: I believe this is Michael B. Jordan’s first “bare booty” scene in his career yet watch for it! 🙂
Very well done Mr. Will Smith! Definitely Oscar and other award nominations should come as they are well deserved. Heartfelt, humor and family love. What a great movie for a family to see together (get your tissues). The the good feels envelop you while watching.
Well, this film wasn’t what I thought it would be. You will either like or dislike Kristen’s depiction of Princess Diana, and I thought it was corny. There’s humor and it shows not known things about her personality.
