So, M. Night hasn’t gotten a movie right since his 1st movie years ago. I watched the film yet there was nothing going on to keep me interested. Pointless to pay money at the theatre.
Only because this movie/trilogy and the original Laurie aka Jamie Lee Curtis is nostalgic, did I again view this movie with my fingers over my eyes, lol, but seriously. So this movie took a bit of a different spin with the storyline yet I knew it would still come to an expected end. Still scary as heck! This Michael is human so he can die, so I think this trilogy has ended. I saw this last Thursday night in IMAX.
Pretty simple storyline (lion chases people) that’s predictable yet if you pay attention to the early scenes, you will know how the movie ends, that had a little twist. It held my attention; it’s a talk to the screen movie because of actions that the characters should not take. It wasn’t scary to me; a little cheesy.
So maybe a nope for me on this one. Jordan Peele definitely had a hit with “Get Out” yet last year’s release was a flop to me with this one being a bit better. I am a big fan of sci-fi movies and this one is okay for a while then fizzles. There are some laughs to make the watch a bit easier.
Here we are with another (real) Marvel movie, lol. I’m such a big fan of the original Avengers. So, this film is so vividly stunning (especially in IMAX 3-D) that you get pulled into this spinning multiverse, lol. The storyline is easy follow, yet a new character appears in the beginning (maybe I need to watch the last Dr. Strange movie again) that I wasn’t familiar with. There are surprise appearances of other Marvel characters that was (loud applause) and I didn’t recognize a couple of them (this is for the comic book fans). A little spooky but not scary. Of course, there are 2 end credit scenes, stay until the screen goes black (the 2nd one isn’t worth waiting for). SURPRISE: there’s a 3-d trailer for ‘Avatar’…that was a nice surprise as I hadn’t heard about it.
4 stars out of 5 (a little bit a of lower rating for a Marvel movie for me, but I enjoyed it).
So, I’m a huge Marvel movie film yet this is a Sony distributed film and it’s evident. Visually it’s great as I saw it in IMAX yet the storyline/back story was lack luster to me. There is a mention of Spiderman towards the end, which was so exciting to me and I was hoping to get a tie-in connection to the Marvel, but it didn’t work. There are 2 end credit scenes that happen before the screen goes to black, so there’s no need to stay until the end.
This is the origin story to this franchise and I didn’t connect the dots at all, smh. Horror movies are not my genre yet I went thinking it had some of those that I was familiar with in this franchise. Yes, there’s a quick end credit scene
So, horror films are totally NOT my genre yet I saw this reprisal of franchise 2 years ago and it wasn’t too bad, lol. Somehow I meshed Jason and Michael Myers together and have been calling this film, Friday the 13th, LOL. This 2nd installment is VERY gory and not enough content of Jamie Lee Curtis and common sense (they could have chopped him up or at least his limbs to immobilize him, IJS). Now we wait for the 3rd and final film in this trilogy, lol.
