‘Unhinged” Movie Review

Finally, the long awaited and highly anticipated first movie to hit the big screen since mid March when the pandemic started, has opened in theatres. I’m excited that some theatres in the Country have re-opened. This industry must practice safety. So, I was able to check this predictable flick out. The premise starts quickly and high octane rage ensues. Good enough to watch to the end especially those who have missed the movie going experience.

‘I Still Believe’ Movie Review

I still belive

Based on true story about Christian singer Jeremy Camp, he struggles with keeping his faith while watching the love of his life fight for her life. Definitely a tear jerker and a good family and faith based movie to see.

‘Shazam’ Movie Review

I’m not knowledgeable of this DC character (or sidekicks) so I had no preconceived expectations. I was pleasantly surprised that is was funny and entertaining! I liked the mentions and no-face cameos of other DC characters but it would have been better had they shown faces (I realize Batman is up for a re-cast from Ben and a possible re-cast of Superman yet Aquaman seems solid and no cameo from Jason). I saw a very early screening, therefore, I didn’t see it in IMAX or Dolby. Worth checking out. NOTE: there are two end credit scenes to enjoy.

‘A Star is Born’ Movie Review

This movie has been re-invented a few times over the decades with this being my first time seeing one of them. The acting is solid; the casting is solid; the chemistry is solid. I’m sure there will be awards nominations. The storyline is a bit predictable yet it’s engaging and Bradley does a great job as does Lady Gaga. Definitely worth checking out. I saw the movie in Dolby and it was great.

‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Movie Review

NOTE: AS WITH “ALL” MARVEL MOVIES – DON’T FORGET TO WAIT UNTIL THE END CREDIT SCENE RUNS AT THE END OF ALL THE CREDITS….WAIT UNTIL THE SCREEN TURNS BLACK.

Ok, I could have used a total X-Men movie refresher to understand and keep up with this movie. I had forgotten a lot of the characters. If you’re a diehard X-men fan, you’ll enjoy seeing most if not all characters in one movie, lol. I did really enjoy the storyline and the nostalgic look back to the 1970’s. There’s humor amongst the characters and lots of action. I did see the film in 3D and I enjoyed it. Not a lot of the movie is in 3D but when it kicks in it’s worth it. I think this film definitely fits into the Summer popcorn movie guide. Enjoy! Another well done #Marvel film.

‘Million Dollar Arm’ Movie Review

‘Million Dollar Arm’ is a true story that I wasn’t aware of (baseball enthusiasts probably are). This is a heartwarming journey of two young men from India to fulfill a new dream of becoming baseball super stars in America. They had to learn the game of baseball because in India they played cricket. There’s humor along the way and a story that grabs your attention and hits a homerun.

‘Brick Mansions’ Movie Review

Here’s a cheesy and laughable action movie that does hold your attention. Unfortunately, it’s a negative depiction of the City of Detroit. I really wanted to see the last film that Paul Walker completed (‘Fast 7’ was only 60% completed at his untimely death in 2013). Of course, Paul has the strongest performance and shows his martial arts skills that he had a love for. I think this movie would have gone straight to dvd had Paul not passed away.

‘The Other Woman’ Movie Review

Here’s a funny on top of funny movie (I laughed out loud a few times). The characters of Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton blended well on top of having a good looking also comedic leading man Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (b.k.a. Jamie Lannister from ‘Game of Thrones’). This is a somewhat predictable comedy yet the ride in this comedy is worth taking. Nicki Minaj holds her own and does a good job in her first film. This is a good girls night out film.

‘Heaven is for Real’ Movie Review

This is a poignant family movie for all to enjoy. The actor who portrays the lead child character, Colton Burpo, is adorable and I expect to see more of him in films. The storyline is inspirational and debuts in theatres during a Holy time of the year, Passover…Good Friday and Easter/Resurrection Sunday. One of the film’s producers is Bishop T. D. Jakes whose faith based film projects usually do very well at the box office. The book of the same name is a best seller. Also the lead actress, Kelly Reilly, has an upcoming new television series on ABC debuting soon titled ‘Black Box’.
