‘Den of Thieves’ Movie Review

This is definitely my type of popcorn movie…shoot-em-up bang-bang, lol. The storyline is quite engaging; some scenes as slow(and it works) yet the movie is not slow. The character development is good and your mind is trying to figure out who is actually better of all the bad guys on both sides. I found myself routing for the somewhat obvious bad guys because their plan was so masterful. This movie reminds me of ‘Takers’ with a cast of handsome men and it reminds me of ‘Set it Off’. Overall it’s a good movie yet there were a couple things that didn’t tie in well.

‘Southpaw’ Movie Review

This is a great film! Lots of drama through violence, wrestling and love. Oona Laurence portrays the daughter of the main characters and she gives a riveting performance. The acting in this film is Oscar worthy (I don’t know why it didn’t come out later in the year when those are usually the films that get more Oscar attention). Great performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Forest Whitaker. A little slow to some in a couple of spots but not to me.  Detroit’s own Eminem is on the soundtrack for the movie.

‘Escape Plan’ Movie Review

They’re baaack! We have The Terminator and Rocky together in a new movie…it must be good, huh, lol. Well I enjoyed it. I went in thinking it would be a traditional storyline of a prison movie but it wasn’t. A new 21st Century spin that kept me engaged the whole time. Stallone and Schwarzenegger characters have chemistry and do expect a bit of their well-known characters to shine in this movie. An entertaining action popcorn flick that’s definitely worth checking out.
