‘The Batman’ Movie Review

I had heard only blah-blah reviews, yet I was entertained even with there being a plethora of Batman movies. I thought Pattinson owned the character as did Zoe. Long movie yet again it was decent. I viewed it in IMAX and play to see it in Dolby. Now, the end credit scene is not worth staying for and proves why Marvel gets the comic book movies right and DC usually does not, smh, SPOILER: the screen will just say goodbye!

P.S. I went to see #TheBatman again tonight (Friday) in Dolby (great experience as well); I will now say that I enjoy Pattinson at the Batman (not so much as Bruce Wayne)! He does a great job and has good chemistry with Zoe (Cat Woman). The action scenes are good; the end credit scene is still sucky, IJS. I have upgraded my stars from 3.5 to 4 (probably should be 4.5 but I’m a Marvel fan 😉

‘Black Panther’ Movie Review

Black Panther banner

Marvel has hit a home run with ‘Black Panther’. The storyline is easy to follow and it tells the back story of how T’Challa became the Black Panther. This is a solid movie for all to enjoy. Disney of course has a blast of colors on the screen and the IMAX experience is great. I’ll check it out in IMAX 3D soon.  Don’t forget to stay until the screen goes black…there are two end credit scenes and the last one is really great!

‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Movie Review

Star Wars banner 2

Entertaining, engaging, exciting, and eye-popping colors and characters!  I really enjoyed this 2nd installment to the trilogy.  Great storyline and everything that a Star Wars fan wants to see.  There’s a great acknowledgement to “Princess Leia” in the end credits.  I  stayed to the screen turned black but no end credit scene.  I saw it in Dolby and it was GREAT!  I will see it at least twice more because I want to experience it in other formats, so IMAX 3D and Super E-Max screen viewings are coming soon. I’ll update this review to share my feelings on those formats.  A fave of mine from #GameOfThrones makes her mark in this one, #GwendolineChristie b.k.a. Brienne of Tarth.

‘War for the Planet of the Apes’ Movie Review

War for the Planet of the Apes banner

Finally one in this franchise that I liked.  The storyline is good as it starts slow (especially with lots of subtitles) to build each character.  It seemed to me that the franchise has shifted to go in another direction and to me, it’s for the better.  The CGI is much better than in the other two.  Good action, humor and heart warming.

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Movie Review

Dawn of the POA banner 2

I will say I enjoyed the 2nd film of this new franchise better than the first. The 3D special effects were great and so is the cinematography. The storyline is lackluster and somewhat predictable. I did like that they tied the first film into this one. Overall, I’ll say Hollywood still hasn’t made a really good and/or even great “ape” movie since the original old-school films of the late 60’s and 70’s. I love watching those old films because the apes had more personality and I miss seeing the great makeup and costumes of the actors portraying the apes. I will give the 2001 P.O.T.A. movie starring Mark Wahlberg an honorable mention.
