‘Leave No Trace’ Movie Review

I finally got a chance to check this out on DVD.  I never saw (noticed) the film in a Metro Detroit theatre.  The eccentric choice of lifestyle is exhibited by a dad who wants to do right by his daughter.  Her love for her father kept her with him until she decided she wanted a different life.  I became more interested in seeing this film when President Obama listed this film as one of his 2018 favorite movies.

‘Inferno’ Movie Review

I probably should have re-watched the first two films in this trilogy because I was a bit lost. The acting and scenery were good yet the storyline was hard to follow with un-needed witch craft things.

‘Hell or High Water’ Movie Review

Here’s a good film with a Western feel. This crime spree takes place in modern time yet there’s a feel that it’s an epic western film. Bank robberies and shoot outs is what you’ll find in this film yet the crimes support the love of family.

‘Warcraft’ Movie Review

I’m not familiar with the video game series or books yet I’m always drawn to a fantasy type movie. I enjoyed this movie especially in IMAX 3D. The storyline is easy enough to follow and almost everything about this movie reminded me of Game of Thrones and the Lord of the Rings franchise, lol. The cgi is sometimes not so good and understanding the orcs when they talk was a bit challenging yet overall I liked it and especially the battle scenes. I hadn’t paid attention to the actors cast and was surprised to see Paula Patton. This one ended with a set-up to a sequel.

‘The Finest Hours’ Movie Review

This movie is based on a true story that actually happened in Cape Cod in 1952. It’s really hard to imagine being in such a storm at sea and actually surviving. The movie is slow yet there are a few visually stunning scenes to watch (I saw it in 3D; no IMAX at the theatre I went to due to ‘Star Wars’ still making a lot of money). I thought the acting by particularly, Chris Pine and overall the entire cast could have been better yet overall the movie was okay.

‘Lone Survivor’ Movie Review

Plain and simple a great film. It’s hard to summarize this film up as great when it’s a true story about some of the most courageous men on earth, Navy Seals, whose mission went terribly wrong. Based on the failed June 28, 2005 mission “Operation Red Wings”. Four members of SEAL Team 10 were tasked with the mission to capture or kill notorious Taliban leader Ahmad Shahd. Based on the book by Marcus Luttrell. There’s also an act of humanity shown on enemy territory. Very intense. A must see film.
