‘Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Movie Review

Here we are with another (real) Marvel movie, lol. I’m such a big fan of the original Avengers. So, this film is so vividly stunning (especially in IMAX 3-D) that you get pulled into this spinning multiverse, lol. The storyline is easy follow, yet a new character appears in the beginning (maybe I need to watch the last Dr. Strange movie again) that I wasn’t familiar with. There are surprise appearances of other Marvel characters that was (loud applause) and I didn’t recognize a couple of them (this is for the comic book fans). A little spooky but not scary. Of course, there are 2 end credit scenes, stay until the screen goes black (the 2nd one isn’t worth waiting for). SURPRISE: there’s a 3-d trailer for ‘Avatar’…that was a nice surprise as I hadn’t heard about it.

4 stars out of 5 (a little bit a of lower rating for a Marvel movie for me, but I enjoyed it).

‘The Old Guard’ Netflix Movie Review

The_Old_Guard_2020_film_poster

A definite high energy action movies of immortals who have been in wars for centuries. The military is looking for the group and new immortals and they aren’t playing fair. A sequel seems to be in the works by how it ends.

‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’ Movie Review

Male cover

It took a few years but the sequel to the hugely popular dark fairytale returns. This film is PG, I’m sure, to get younger viewers. The movies starts “dark” and lightens up yet there are enough scenes to probably still scare younger children. I viewed it in IMAX and it was great.

‘The Lion King’ Movie Review

Lion KIng

Based of course on the classic 1994 animated film, we have the live-action version story, which is a winner! Of course, beautifully stunning as only #Disney does it. From what I remember (I have to watch the original again) this storyline follows the original and the cgi of the animals is fantastic with great music! A family fun Summertime movie to enjoy. My first viewing was in Dolby and it was great!

‘Mary Magdalene’ Movie Review

Mary mag movie

Leading up to Resurrection Sunday (Easter) is a Holy time for Christians around the world.  This film is told from the perspective of Mary Magdalene.  Although, some accounts were familiar to me from bible teachings there were some things that didn’t connect according to the bible.  Still, I’d say see it for yourself as it does motivate you check the bible and/or your bible study notes.

‘Sherlock Gnomes’ Movie Review

The trailers had been so cute so I was looking forward to this movie. All of the best scenes unfortunately were in the trailers. I found few laughs and cuteness in this movie.

‘Doctor Strange’ Movie Review

dr-strange-2016

Probably the strangest character of the Marvel world to hit the big screen but he’s “strange” in a good way, lol. I enjoyed this newest installment to a franchise that I’m hooked on. This is the most mystical Marvel movie thus far and I enjoyed getting to learn this new character. If you tend to get dizzy, certain scenes may make you loopy (the 3D affect is even worse). Lots of humor. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was great! Don’t forget that there are TWO end of credits scenes. Stay until the screen turns black.

‘Triple 9’ Movie Review

Triple 9 banner

I really enjoy this bank heist movie that has a great ensemble cast. My attention was held throughout and I think it is really underrated. The chemistry is great within the cast. There are storyline twists that I didn’t expect. This is a great role for Chiwetel Ejiofor that I enjoyed seeing him in and I hope he takes more roles like this.

‘Secret in Their Eyes’ Movie Review

Secret in their Eyes banner

Overall, this is a pretty good mystery/thriller movie. There are a few scenes where the physical violence is intense and unexpected. The acting is good and I enjoyed seeing Julia and Chiwetel in a different type of role. There’s a twist to the ending that I wasn’t expecting.

‘The Martian’ Movie Review

The Martian banner

I am a sci-fi movie fan and this one is a winner-winner. Better than ‘Gravity’, I thought the storyline was good with picturesque Mars scenery (from what we know it to look like). It’s almost 2 1/2 hours and there are slow parts yet I liked it. I saw it in Real-D 3D. I’m always glad to see #GameOfThrones cast members in films…Sean Bean from Season 1 is in this one (Ned Stark). Also, Kate Mara is co-starring and you can currently see her in ‘Captive’ showing in theatres now.
