‘Table 19’ Movie Review

Table 19 banner

This movie was funny to me yet most critics didn’t think so. An ensemble cast that struggles for chemistry yet has individual charm.

‘Get On Up’ Movie Review

get on up poster

Chadwick Boseman is great at biopics! This movie is just over 2 hours yet it could have been longer because in my opinion Mr. Brown’s story wasn’t told in depth…especially his darker side that we read about in the news. Overall, I did enjoy this movie and with this great ensemble cast the acting is great. Chadwick does a great job with the dancing, mannerisms and “geechy” dialect. It’s early to talk about Oscar worthy performances yet Chadwick’s depiction is great although the storyline could be stronger. There are 1st person scenes that the main character has that adds to developing of the storyline. The music is great!

‘This Is The End’ Movie Review

If raunchy stupid humor with a plethora of comedians and “A” list celebrities is your type of movie, then this is the movie for you! There are many funny moments and cameos of several celebrities with hilarious storylines (most very short). I enjoy the work of several comedians in the movie yet it wasn’t as funny to me as most critics have written.

‘Peeples’ Movie Review

Pretty good ensemble cast that doesn’t seem to connect the character relationships together well. There are a few laugh out loud scenes yet more scenes that the script wants to be funny that aren’t. I did enjoy S. Epatha Merkerson character…I’ve never seen her in a light and comedic role. It was good to see Diahann Carroll and Melvin Van Peeples on the big screen. Not a flop of a movie yet not nearly as good as it should be with the talent available (especially David Alan Grier). PG-13; comedy; 95 minutes
