‘The Mountain Between Us’ Movie Review

Who would have thought that ultimately this film is love story that begins in the worst of situations. The survival on the mountain(s) isn’t as intense as some films have shown yet the storyline was still good. Now, the chemistry between the two wasn’t as intense as I wanted it to be seeing that I’m a huge Idris Elba fan.

‘Sleepless’ Movie Review

I had no expectations of enjoying this movie (yet high hopes) despite the ensemble cast of a few of my favorites because of lack of big budget advertising and advance critic screenings.  Well, I really enjoyed this fast paced bad-cop good-cop with a few bad guys movie, lol.  The storyline is simple enough and there a few twists so it’s not so predictable.  Definitely worth checking out.

‘Dirty Grandpa’ Movie Review

Grandpa is definitely “dirty” LOL. Very mature comedy throughout that will make you laugh. I actually thought Robert and Zac had good chemistry. Zac is definitely eye candy!

‘Truth’ Movie Review

This movie is depicted from the book and true story of Dan Rather and Mary Mapes investigation of former President George W. Bush military service. Their findings and Dan’s reports of this topic led to the end of his and Marys’ career (yet she is known as one of the best journalists in the 2000’s for another award winning story she published). The cover up and back lash into former President Bush’s military deployment led to several people being forced to resign, Mary being fired (ultimately taking most of the blame) and CBS being embarrassed. A little slow yet interesting. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cate Blanchett gets an Oscar nomination. Robert Redford does a good job as Dan Rather yet he looked like a “very” aged Dan Rather.

‘August: Osage County’ Movie Review (Oscar/Actor Cat.)

Here’s a small town family with lots of dysfunctional issues! Good acting yet the movie isn’t spectacular. Slow in some parts and was a little boring until the next family issue came up. Still in select theatres or on vod via your cable provider. We’ll see this evening if Meryl wins again, lol.
