‘Coffee & Kareem’ Netflix Movie Review

Coffee and Kareem

Coffee (a police officer newly dating a single mom) and Kareem (the 12 year old son of the single mom dating a police officer) set off on an unplanned cop caper. Lots of profanity from the cop lead; lots of nonsense scenes. Not a good of depiction of anything about Detroit.

‘Penguins’ Movie Review

Disney Penguins

The narration is quite jovial and entertaining.  This is a nice outing for a family.  The IMAX experience is beautiful.

‘Tag’ Movie Review

tag

Based on true accounts of friends that literally played “tag” with one another and it was no holds barred. Only one friend was able to avoid being tagged for many years. The silliness of it all was funny but they did actually hurt themselves sometimes. There’s some real footage of the friends antics at the end of the movie.

‘Chappaquiddick’ Movie Review

Chap banner

Based on true accounts of when Senator Kennedy drove his car over a bridge and the passenger, a secretary who worked for his brothers, drowned.  The movie definitely made me aware of a story I was only a little aware of, I have to do some online reading on the facts.

‘Father Figures’ Movie Review

Father Figures banner

Fraternal male twins seek to find their father after their mom refuses to tell them who fathered them. It’s a comical journey of each man they find as they begin to hope that “he’s” the one. Becoming a parent is sometimes born from the heart. The storyline could have been funnier yet there are some laughs.

‘Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie’ Movie Review

This animated feature is cute enough to keep children and adults engaged with humor and the storyline.  It’s awkward hearing Kevin Hart’s voice in a kid but any whoot, lol.  There’s a quick end credit scene after a few credits.  If you want to see it in 3D, it was decent.

‘Kevin Hart: What Now?’ Movie Review

This is the edited LIVE sold out comedy performance at Philadelphia’s outdoor venue, Lincoln Financial Field. There’s a little bit of a fake movie storyline that Halle Berry, Don Cheadle and a couple others make a cameo in.

‘Love the Coopers’ Movie Review

Love the Coopers banner

We all love seeing a good Christmas movie this time of year to make us laugh, feel nostalgic and get us in the mood for Christmas. Well this movie aims to do that but it’s not a good delivery. With such a great ensemble cast you’d expect non-stop laughs amongst the chaos and dysfunction of this family. There’s humor and lots of family issues yet it just wasn’t a good movie. Catch it at matinee price (not worth full price). I didn’t care for the narration (the narrator will be revealed at the end, lol) which reminded me of ‘A Christmas Story’ (still a true classic). ‘Love the Coopers’ will not be Holiday classic, in my opinion.

‘Vacation’ Movie Review

I didn’t have high expectations for this one based on advance screener statements. Well, I liked it and found myself laughing out loud a few times. Yes, the movie is full of gross humor and inappropriate scenes…that’s what the Griswolds’ do, right? I was surprised to see a fave actress of mine in short scene, Regina Hall.

‘We’re The Millers’ Movie Review

>were the Millers 2

Here’s a late Summer funny movie to check out. It’s not a “family” movie yet the synopsis is about a put-together family in route to pick up a large supply of marijuana and bring it back to the U.S. Well, as one would think there are many funny situations that occur in this trip. The cast of characters is pretty funny and I didn’t find Jennifer Aniston to be the star of the movie (even though I’m a fan of hers). There are really cute/funny out-takes at the end of the movie so don’t rush out the theatre. Worth checking out.
