‘The Last Days of American Crime’ Netflix Movie Review

Now showing on Netflix, you will find this grimy crime thriller with a fair amount of gory scenes. There are a few different side bar storylines going on that don’t figure into the main storyline and aids in the way too long run time of just about 2 1/2 hours. If you’re bored watch it, if not I didn’t find it engaging and finished in two settings.

‘Gold’ Movie Review

Based on a true story, you have two men that become fast buddies set on finding gold in Indonesia! As far fetched as they know it to happen…it happens…or does it? The ending will leave you wondering who knew what all along. A bit slow.

‘The Girl on the Train’ Movie Review

Based on a book (that I didn’t read) we have a thriller with lots of suspects that could have killed a young woman. But, is the seemingly logical suspect really the killer? This is a pretty good thriller yet a little slow in the beginning as the story builds.

‘Joy’ Movie Review

This movie is loosely based on Joy Mangano who invented the miracle mop. Jennifer Lawrence in my opinion gives her best on screen performance portraying this single mom’s journey to build a sound life for her children and family. This is one of two movies that Édgar Ramírez stars in this Christmas weekend (‘Point Break’ the other). The soap opera scenes are chocked full of real soap stars that I recognized.

‘Point Break’ Movie Review

The storyline isn’t anything to really hold your attention yet the aerial views are spectacular especially in Real D 3D! I didn’t see the original film so I couldn’t compare the two. This one can wait for dvd viewing.
