‘Everest’ Movie Review

Everest banner

Based on the true story of the journey about climbers from two expeditions starting their final ascent toward the summit of Mount Everest in 1996, the highest point on Earth. The weather changes and it turns deadly. I saw it in IMAX 3D which made each scene on the mountain that much more intense; paying the extra for IMAX is worth it.

‘Little Boy’ Movie Review

Little Boy banner

What a wonderful faith based, wholesome family movie. There’s a scripture that says (paraphrase): “and a child shall lead them”…. Well this inspirational movie of a little boy exhibiting faith to bring his dad back home from war is a classic film for all to enjoy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the couple, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey are executive producers of this film.

‘Belle’ Movie Review

If you’re a historical movie fan, then I’m sure you will enjoy this well told true story of Dido Elizabeth “Belle”. Dido, an illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral is raised by her aristocratic great-uncle. She’s raised as a royal yet she couldn’t live all the advantages of her royal blood due to her mixed race (black/white). Good acting by all and a movie worth checking out. In select (artsy) theatres now.

‘The Book Thief’ Movie Review

The book thief

I’m a fan of war movies and this film depicted from the novel is a good adaptation. The storyline is a little slow yet I enjoyed learning about the characters from their perspective during World War II. The lead character Liesel is a sweetheart and I enjoyed seeing her journey although, sad. This type of film is a fave of mine this time of the year; quite heartwarming with lots of surprising humor from several characters.
