‘The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ Movie Review

This sequel doesn’t disappoint if non-stop fighting, shooting and funny as heck humor is your type of movie. The unique ensemble cast re-unites to keep the chaos going. The first scene between Sam Jackson and Morgan Freeman is a classic…it was like “what are you doing in my movie” as they both have a high-box office gross revenue. There’s an end credit scene. In theatres Wednesday, June 16th; I saw it at an early sneak peek.

‘Darkest Hour’ Movie Review

Historians will love this movie!  I enjoyed revisiting what I learned about this era of time.  The movie is a bit slow yet full of great acting.  Gary Oldman should definitely get an Oscar nomination.

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ Movie Review

Finally, a good and funny shoot-em-up bang-bang Summer movie has arrived! This movie is full of good fight and chase scenes (sometimes a bit gory). Sam Jackson gets every opportunity to say every expletive he wants throughout this movie, lol. Entertaining to say the least.  There’s one outtake scene after credits.

‘The Space Between Us’ Movie Review

What a cute teenage love story. Based on the book (that I didn’t read)I enjoyed this sorta sci-fi movie. I found scenes to be heartwarming and humorous with some sci-fi (which I love). I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a sequel yet I did expect that the ending would be more “expectant”.

‘Man Down’ Movie Review

This movie is a reminder that PTSD is real and that many soldiers return from combat and can’t adjust to a real and normal life after going through so may traumatic things.

‘Criminal’ Movie Review

Criminal 2016 banner

If you can handle very violent scenes, then that’s the worst of this movie. The storyline I thought could have been better especially with such a great ensemble cast. The violent scenes and small amount of action keeps the movie going. This movie initially somewhat reminded me of ‘Face Off’…different but not so much. Not bad but it could have been better.

‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Movie Review

Dawn of the POA banner 2

I will say I enjoyed the 2nd film of this new franchise better than the first. The 3D special effects were great and so is the cinematography. The storyline is lackluster and somewhat predictable. I did like that they tied the first film into this one. Overall, I’ll say Hollywood still hasn’t made a really good and/or even great “ape” movie since the original old-school films of the late 60’s and 70’s. I love watching those old films because the apes had more personality and I miss seeing the great makeup and costumes of the actors portraying the apes. I will give the 2001 P.O.T.A. movie starring Mark Wahlberg an honorable mention.

‘Robocop 2014’ Movie Review

Robocop banner

The ‘Robocop’ franchise is back! It’s not a bad remake. The action is pretty good, the storyline is true to the original film and Sam Jackson as Pat Novak is hilarious. If you know anything about Detroit, there are a few jokes towards politicians of the City that are mostly funny. Enjoy sites of Detroit (partially filmed in Detroit). Overall, I think it’s worth checking out and I hope a sequel is made…besides anything Sam Jackson touches turns to gold, right? LOL.

‘Paranoia’ Movie Review

I was excited about seeing a drama/thriller movie with a couple of my favorite actors. A similar storyline to many other movies yet this one has the twist of using futuristic technology as the focal point. Liam Hemsworth’s character, Adam is an entry level employee where he basically gets caught in the middle of a money war with his boss and his boss’ arch enemy. I thought the movie had slow moments that kept me from fully enjoying the movie. Liam has his shirt off a lot and it’s a good thing!
