‘Scoob’ Movie Review

Due to the pandemic, this nostalgic animated re-boot has been released directly to streaming platforms. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a Scooby movie or episode so some of the characters (villains) I had forgotten about. I did like how it was explained how Shaggy and Scooby first met. It’s decent for a nostalgic animated revisit that the family can enjoy together.

‘Miss Bala’ Movie Review

miss bala

I was hoping for a good action flick and I pretty much got that. Somewhat predictable yet a couple of twists make this 3-way bad guy movie engaging with a female lead. I saw the movie in Dolby and it was great.
SPOILER: ended with the setup for a sequel which is unusual when the lead character had no specific training.

‘Smallfoot’ Movie Review

Small foot

I was looking forward to seeing this movie as trailers started a year ago! I had high hopes of an animated success and I’d say it’s a winner. It’s beautifully illustrated with humor for all ages. The yeti’s aren’t so scary yet it’s made known that their language is still a bunch of roars in English.

‘Annihilation’ Movie Review

I love sci-fi movies yet this one is a total flop. Every time you think the movie is going to get better it gets even worse. Skip this one and even on cable when it comes on.

‘The Star’ Movie Review

What a wonderful family movie for this Season! The story of Jesus’ birth is told in an animated version beautifully done. Laughs, great music and a good time for all in this all-star ensemble (voiced) cast.

‘Deepwater Horizon’ Movie Review

Based on the true story of the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, which exploded April 2010 and created the worst oil spill in U.S. history. A well written script and screenplay led to this being a great movie on the big screen. I was on the edge of my seat during a few scenes. See it in IMAX if you can.
