‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ Movie Review

So, this superhero franchise has struggled and only a few become fan favorites. I enjoyed the first Shazam and I enjoyed this one as well. Humor with a couple of #avenger jabs, lol, and a good look in Dolby. A trilogy is not expected since D.C comics has totally reorganized and rebooting actors. There’s a big surprise towards the end!!! There are 2 end credit scenes with the first one worth waiting for; the second I didn’t get at all and nothing will probably come it now.

‘F9: The Fast Saga’ Movie Review

Finally, the next installment of one of my favorite movie franchises is back on the big screen! Yes, it’s bigger and faster and I still loved the incredible stunts that aren’t realistic. The storyline is good bringing back old characters and adding new ones; and finally telling the back story of Dom. There’s a teaser at the end of the film about the character that everyone misses, Brian. It will interesting to see what they’re going to do. Yes, there is one end credit scene. The IMAX experience is is GREAT! P.S. the Jurassic World trailer is a good one shown just before the movie in IMAX only.

‘The Good Liar’ Movie Review

the good liar

The storyline is quite predictable yet with a more serious tone in the reveal of the good liar. Two A-list actors yet a mediocre performance especially from Helen. So predictable that it’s not worth your money.

‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’ Movie Review

HObbs and Shaw

Definitely high-octane action on the Fast & Furious tip! The Rock with Jason Statham and now with Idris Elba as the bad guy makes for some good summertime popcorn movie watching (you can’t take the over the top action scenes as reality). There were references to F&F but nothing big. A couple of well known actors make cameo appearances. There are “3” post credit scenes (one after all the credits roll). SPOILER: I was so disappointed that none of the spoilers showed or spoke of the F&F crew). I saw it in IMAX! P.S. great eye-candy for me and any other woman who loves The Rock and Idris!

I wanted to love this movie but I couldn’t. The action scenes are fast paced and full of energy yet the storyline is all over the place and made no sense. There’s a lost of double crossing to the very end.

‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’ Movie Review

NutCracker

Loosely based on the famous ballet, is this live action whimsical and classic Holiday story. The storyline is weak yet it’s a beautiful colorful movie to view. I viewed it in Dolby and it was great. Overall, this is a movie to get you into the Christmas mood.

‘The Leisure Seeker’ Movie Review

Lots of humor and love with this couple. Both are in ailing health and much to their children’s disapproval, they embark on a road trip in their RV. Although being married decades, they learn a lot about one another on their journey. Great acting from stellar actors.

‘Collateral Beauty’ Movie Review

I expected this movie to be “dark” based on the trailers. I didn’t expect to fall in love with this movie. The storyline is sad for this time of the year, especially for anyone who has lost a child. The end of the movie leaves you wondering if angels really do exist. Strong performance by Will Smith. Definitely worth checking out…tissues may be needed. Great ensemble cast.

‘Eye in the Sky’ Movie Review

The consequences of war is really what this movie is about. Unfortunately, innocent bystanders get in the middle of good government trying to stop terrorist acts. The storyline is quite engaging and emotional and shows the steps of government it sometimes takes to stop terrorists (even a little humor) but in the end a beautiful little girl’s life is put at risk to stop evil. A very sad ending. I believe this is Alan Rickman’s last film. Another #GOT regular is in this film, Iain Glen.

‘Trumbo’ Movie Review

This movie is based on a true story and book of the same name. Essentially, one of the best screenwriters in history (and other artists) was jailed for their political views. Mr. Trumbo was an interesting person to say the least; after being black balled in Hollywood he had to write scripts using shadow writer names. I did like this movie and I won’t be surprised hearing about a few Oscar nominations from this stellar ensemble cast.
