‘The Little Mermaid’ movie review

Disney does it right with this live action remake! The expected lush colors and whimsical scenes are all there to dazzle your eyes. I actually don’t recall if I’ve ever completely seen the original animated movie. Halle does a great job of the reinvisioning of the character and Disney includes all cultures. There are a few dark scenes so the littles may close their eyes a couple times. I saw it in IMAX and it was great; I may see it again in 3D.

Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile

This family friendly film based on the popular book is for young children, I didn’t like it.

‘Being the Ricardos’ Movie Review

Based on the true story of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz during the height of their popular comedy television show. The behind the scenes of their marriage is also told which ultimately led to their divorce which was filed on the last day the comedy show was filmed.

‘Dune’ Movie Review

I really do love sci-fi and adventure type movies, yet this depiction of the books (which I haven’t read) was quite delightful to “see” with the great action scenes and scenery yet the storyline was hard to follow probably because there wasn’t one (to me).

‘Everybody Knows’ Movie Review

Everybody KNows

ALERT: “ALL SUBTITLES” this usually isn’t a problem yet for some reason I was totally unaware and it caught me off guard, lol. It’s a pretty decent mystery movie that kept me engaged the entire film. Secrets SPOILER (especially about the kidnapped teenager) are revealed after a sister comes home for a wedding yet the secret of who actually kidnapped her daughter for a ransom may still be a mystery when the movie ends. It definitely ends as a cliffhanger.

‘Mother!’ Movie Review

Mother banner

Although one of the genres is horror, believe me, this is only a horror of a movie. The storyline makes no sense and it’s not scary. I thought maybe Jennifer’s character had an issue about going outside after a horrific incident…but no sense was ever made. A waste of the talent in this movie. Don’t waste your money or time.

‘ Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ Movie Review

Pirates 2017

Everything that fans of this franchise were waiting on, is delivered in this fifth edition.  There’s a storyline to follow with ALL the fantastic picturesque backdrops and characters!  Disney spared no expense in making everything that wasn’t real look real.  The IMAX 3D experience was fabulous.  Yes, there is an end credit scene giving a plot to the next film that I’m sure will happen in hopefully just a couple of years.

‘The Gunman’ Movie Review

The Gunman banner

I enjoy a good action/crime/drama movie and this film had it’s highs and lows (with slow scenes). If you’re a Sean Penn fan, then I think you’ll find it mediocre at most. The storyline is not cut and dry so it was boring to me. Idris Elba is in the movie but it’s a really small part.
