‘Bad Times at the El Royale’ Movie Review

El Royale banner

There are seven character stories to tell making the movie kinda long. It’s not an interesting storyline yet it held my attention in hopes for a surprising ending tying all the characters together but it didn’t happened.

‘Only the Brave’ Movie Review

Only the Brave banner

Based on a true story of which I wasn’t aware of details of the story. I had no idea what the devastating outcome of the story was. This is a light hearted movie in the sense of acting until the actual last fire that these brave men fought together and lost together. Quite emotional at the end.

‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Movie Review

Kingsman 2 banner

Usually sequels don’t fare up against the first movie in the franchise, yet in this case it does. I didn’t like the first movie at all and it was a pleasant surprise that this one is much better in storyline, action and humor.  #GOT #GameOfThrones actor Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) portrays “Whiskey” and doesn’t disappoint.

‘The Only Living Boy in New York’ Movie Review

Only Living Boy in New York banner

There are a couple twists to this film which initially seems to just be about a young man falling for his father’s mistress.  Yes, there’s a twisted “love” story yet there’s another story about love.

‘The Giver’ Movie Review

The Giver poster

You really have to pay attention to the storyline to “get” this film. It’s a bit slow yet there are biblical principles throughout the whole film. I liked the sci-fi genre of the film and the transition of the screen from black and white to color. I think this is a thought provoking film yet the delivery could have been better.

‘R.I.P.D.’ Movie Review

ripd

I didn’t know what to expect, therefore, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a decent Summer time popcorn movie. The storyline totally reminded me of M.I.B. Jeff Bridges definitely carries the movie and he’s pretty funny. This is the 2nd of two new movies that Ryan Reynolds is starring in this weekend (‘Turbo’ is the other). Jeff and Ryan’s characters (Roy and Nick) are policemen of sorts returning deado’s to face justice and go to their earned eternity place of residence. Roy & Nick don’t appear on Earth as they looked in their previous lives; their new bodies are hilarious. I wasn’t aware Kevin Bacon (I’m a fan of his) was in the movie until he popped up; good casting. Overall, entertaining. I saw it in 3D and thought it was pretty good. Also, this is the 2nd of two new movies that Mary-Louise Parker is co-starring in this weekend.
