‘Boy Erased’ Movie Review

Based on a true story, this is the journey of a young man identifying and attempting to live his life as a gay man.  His Christian parents chose to have him get “treatment’ of sorts through in my opinion a non-Christian method to not become gay.  The family goes through trials until deciding to just love their son.

‘Gringo’ Movie Review

This hilariously silly comedy has an all-star ensemble cast. There’s a mystery but is there really a mystery or a scheme? Enjoy the journey.

‘Red Sparrow’ Movie Review

This sparrow is about sexual seduction…literally, just like Snoop Doggs song, lol. There’s intrigue and gory fight scenes that hold your attention. I prefer Jennifer in her franchise movies and I’m not sure if this will become one.

‘Loving’ Movie Review

Based on the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, they fought for their love all the way to the Supreme Court. After arrests and years of waiting for the law to award in their favor, finally justice was won. Their love has a sad ending. The movie is slow with little dialogue yet it’s a beautiful story.

‘Midnight Special’ Movie Review

Here’s a sci-fi movie that gets it right. I’m a big fan of the sci-fi genre and this film is well acted with a storyline that’s engaging. We have a little boy that has a special power…coming from his eyes and he’s being led by aliens to a special place to be found. Well the government is trying to find this little boy as well who’s being protected by his father and a friend.

‘Jane Got a Gun’ Movie Review

I didn’t have any expectations and I ended up pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this “real” western movie. I thought the film deserved more advertising. There are a few twists to the storyline so be prepared. Now showing in AMC theatres.

‘Black Mass’ Movie Review

This movie is based on a true story and I found the story to be intriguing. Wow, what an almost unreal thought process to the goings-on of the characters. It’s amazing that Whitey was able to do what he did for as long as he did and elude law enforcement. He was captured in 2011 on an anonymous tip. Brace yourself for lots of violent crime.

‘The Gift’ Movie Review

This is a psychological thriller that moves slowly yet I enjoyed the few layers of twists along the journey. When you think you know who the bad guy is, you may be wrong. There are a few scenes that may make you scream or jump out of your seat, lol.

‘Exodus: Gods and Kings’ Movie Review

Much better than I thought it would be (I was afraid it would be as horrible as ‘Noah’ that was released earlier this year). I don’t think this film will become a classic yet it holds it’s own in an updated version (somewhat) of ‘The 10 Commandments’. Don’t expect this film to follow the biblical story as it is in the Bible. If you’re knowledgeable of Egyptian history, the movie doesn’t follow the era of time correctly (per someone I know of). Overall, entertaining.
