‘Ad Astra’ Movie Review

Ad Astra

Ad Astra = to the stars; and that they did! I love sci-fi movies although this one is not defined as so. Picturesque yes, yet a big bore. The premise is for an astronaut to find out if his dad survived a space mission. I saw it in the IMAX format.

‘Death Wish’ Movie Review

Loosely based on the original 1970’s film, we have a pretty normal man that turns into the grim reaper due to a violent act on his family. The movie is gory with lots of action fight scenes. It was okay yet worth checking out.  It was different seeing Bruce in an action film that he wasn’t “meant” to be a deliberate bad guy.

‘Almost Christmas’ Movie Review

Famous playwright David E. Talbert’s new Holiday themed movie with an ensemble cast hits the big screen this weekend. Lots of laughs with almost as many scenes with profanity (if you’re taking children). Will Packer is a producer on the movie and we know his projects usually fare well. This is probably not a classic Christmas movie but it’s worth checking out; I may see it again.

‘Dope’ Movie Review

Dope banner

Wow, what a really good coming of age movie. Beyond the laughs and goofiness of a few scenes there’s a real story based on the decision(s) a young black man has to make to make it. Stereotypes are addressed and cause you to think about things. Definitely worth checking out. Stay for the throw back dancing from the lead character, Malcolm.
