‘Ben is Back’ Movie Review

ben is back

What a wild roller coaster of immediate tensed scenes when Ben decides to leave his treatment center for a surprise visit home on Christmas Eve. Ben’s presence seems to be upsetting to his blended family and everyone he knows in his hometown. Great acting and a pretty good movie with enough of the back story told to explain things. I didn’t quite agree with the exact ending but some may. Definitely worth checking out.

‘Boy Erased’ Movie Review

Boy Erased banner

Based on a true story, this is the journey of a young man identifying and attempting to live his life as a gay man.  His Christian parents chose to have him get “treatment’ of sorts through in my opinion a non-Christian method to not become gay.  The family goes through trials until deciding to just love their son.

‘Mid90s’ Movie Review

Mid90s banner

This is a great coming of age film that is written and directed by Jonah Hill. The lead character, Stevie, is growing up with a fair share of dysfunction in his family having a physically abusive brother. He looks for friendship in a group of skate boarders yet most of them lead him to bad habits. In the end the heart of everyone emerges.

‘Manchester by the Sea’ Movie Review

Manchester by the Sea banner.png

This movie lives up to the hype. I enjoyed the emotional journey of this family. The movie is not shown in calendar time; it jumps around to leave you guessing on what happened that led to something else happening or what happened to certain characters. Great acting as a whole and I concur with all award shows nominations.
