‘Life Itself’ Movie Review

I thought this was a rom-com yet it turned into something different yet engaging. There’s love, family, drama, sadness, dysfunction and even more. The storyline at times seems too twisty yet it ends well.

‘Wonder’ Movie Review

What a “wonder”ful movie that is full of heart! Based on the best selling book (and there’s a real Auggie as well) the struggle for a little boy with a facial difference to blend in at school and life in general is explored. There’s a scene in the movie where Auggie asks why everyone thinks he’s ugly? A girl in the theatre burst into tears. This is a good movie done well.

‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’ Movie Review

My favorite little blue people are back on the big screen. This movie is truly for children; adults will like it but the storyline won’t engage you. The screen is lush with colors and all things smurfy. Is Smurfette really the only female smurf? The 3D was pretty good and worth spending the extra bucks.

‘Wish I Was Here’ Movie Review

Ultimately, a heartwarming story that also has a sub-storyline. The main character is trying to figure out his life all with a wife and children school aged. His father is sick (portrayed by Mandy Patinkin) and his illness builds his adults sons characters. A really small cameo by well loved television actor James Avery (Uncle Phil from “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air). I will say that there are a few “strange” space suit scenes the main character envisions (lol).
