‘The Equalizer 2’ Movie Review

eo2

This sequel is a winner-winner in my opinion. I really enjoyed the first film and thoroughly enjoyed this one. There’s one storyline that ends incomplete and another that’s off the path of the main storyline yet the action scenes make up for anything else lacking.

‘Novitiate’ Movie Review

The Novitiate banner

I’m not Catholic and I found this film interesting. If the facts (as least some of them) are accurate on how females becomes nuns one will enjoy learning the journey. Melissa Leo’s performance as Mother/Reverend is award winning to say the least. It’s a beautiful journey if a woman chooses to become a nun. I figured there would be exposure of sexuality of the women…I think it was more sexual and them learning that they wanted to be sexual then what their sexual choice will be.

‘Snowden’ Movie Review

Based on a true story, the NSA’s illegal surveillance techniques are leaked to the public by one of the agency’s employees, Edward Snowden, in the form of thousands of classified documents distributed to the press. It actually ended up being better than I thought it would be.

‘The Equalizer’ Movie Review

Equalizer banner

This big screen film is an adaptation of the 80’s television show of the same name. I never saw the television show yet the movie is a winner for me. Typical Denzel type of movie yet I liked the build up of the storyline before all the action began. The storyline never explained how he learned his skills nor his personal back story yet I still enjoyed the movie. I’m thinking there will be more Equalizer films.

‘Prisoners’ Movie Review

Prisoners banner

This movie has received rave reviews from many writers across the country. The storyline kept me thinking throughout the movie; you must pay careful attention to all details to “maybe” figure out who the abductor is. Great cast and good performances. I don’t think this is an Oscar worthy movie yet you never know. There are twists in the storyline that reminded me of ‘Kiss the Girls’ yet this movie is not on that level of a great thriller/drama. It’s worth checking out. The ending may not be what you expect.

‘A Single Shot’

A single shot

If you’re a Sam Rockwell fan, you will enjoy this movie. The storyline is very slow and does give the viewer a chance learn the characters. There are a few “grey” areas in the film that are not cleared up. The ending may not be a fan fave (just warning you). Melissa Leo co-stars; she’s also in new release ‘Prisoners’ on 9/20.
