Based on a true story and a book, this movie is about the dysfunctional mindset of the father of a family. The dysfunction he lived in as a child manifested into his own family. The horrific lifestyle he has his wife and children living in is a nightmare. It’s not all darkness, there’s humor and love. Great acting and chemistry of actors (of all ages).

This is a really good film! I was pleasantly surprised with the storyline and how it shifted to a thriller/drama after starting out lighthearted with a serious topic.

I’m not a fan of scary or super-thriller movies but I thought I’d check this one out. Well, this one doesn’t disappoint with it’s thriller scenes. The storyline starts out simple enough yet there’s a twist and you may be surprised who’s the creepy killer, lol.

Jake Gyllenhaal delves into another eccentric character. The movie isn’t great but it’s not bad. I thought it was going to be about a man grieving the loss of his wife and actually it was but he does it in a very eccentric way.

Pretty cool! I’d agree with most critics that this is the best in the Divergent series. I enjoyed the mostly futuristic scenes and all of the action scenes. I saw it in IMAX and it was great! The storyline was good and held my attention. I did miss seeing two of the favorite villains thus far in this franchise (one from the last movie and another is a goner in this film). I didn’t wait to see if there’s an end credit scene 😦

This movie is filled with total dysfunctional behavior from the lead character Vincent portrayed by Bill Murray. He gives a stellar performance of a man with lots of complexities to his life yet beneath his negativities he has a good soul; which sums up the title of the movie. I expect an Oscar nomination for him in this role. Pretty good ensemble cast and break out role for Jaeden Lieberher who portrays, Oliver. Heart warming movie.
