‘Missing’ Movie Review

I was quite intrigued the entire film. Although somewhat predictable the movie still held my attention to the end with a couple of twists that weren’t expected. LOTS of reading because of all the online searches that actually taught me a few things.

‘The Banker’ Movie Review

the banker

Based on a true story of two black men who were quite successful in buying properties. Being finically stable in a segregated Country they overcame poverty. Grooming a white man to front for them in closing deals was going great until this partner became greedy and led to their demise. I’m surprised this movie didn’t have a theatre release in February. This is an Appletv movie and is only in theatres for a limited time.

’47 Meters Down: Uncaged’ Movie Review

47 meters 2

This is the sequel to last Summers surprise C list popular movie. This year they are not in a cage and a few of Hollywood’s mega stars daughters hit the big screen, that being Jamie Foxx’s & Sylvester Stallone’s daughters. Cheesy yet it held my attention with the most exciting scenes at the end of the movie (3D would probably be great but I saw it in regular format).

‘Keanu’ Movie Review

Keanu banner

I expected silliness that bordered gross humor and it was all of that yet I liked it and it was laugh out loud funny. There’s nothing serious about the storyline as this film is just for laughs with the premise of the fascination of a kitten, Keanu.

‘The Single Moms Club’ Movie Review

Single Moms Club banner

This movie has the potential to be a sequel and a first-ever trilogy (of the same title) for Tyler Perry yet he drops the ball in his writing and directing. The storyline is mediocre and needed more development especially for seasoned actress, Nia Long who co-stars in the film (along with her son Massai Z. Dorsey who portrays her son in the movie). Cocoa Brown and Terry Crew’s characters give us the comedy when it’s needed. There’s a poignant scene in the film that I loved…having a support team/girlfriends/social club to have your back in the good and the bad. No matter how strong a woman is, there are times when she needs to “hear” this from her friends. I would like to see a sequel to this title with a better storyline. I also thought there were too many long pauses in the movie that reminded me of Tyler’s ‘Haves/Have Not’ soap-opera drama series (which I do like).

‘The Best Man Holiday’ Movie Review

The best Man Holiday banner pic 2

Well, it’s no secret that I totally love this sequel (the original film ‘The Best Man’ was released in 1999)! The entire original cast is back on the big screen to make us laugh and we get see how their characters matured. Although it’s been 15 years since the original was filmed and 14 years since it was released, the film depicts only a 10 year gap. This film tugs at all emotions especially laughter and we get to see how much they all do care for one another. Terrance Howard’s character, Quentin is a fave of mine. He totally rocks portraying this character! He’s funny as ever! Morris Chestnut (Lance) definitely steals scenes with that gorgeous physique, ting to my smile 🙂 It’s not necessary to see the original film yet seeing it will help you to understand the characters better (there are flashback scenes from the original). I have seen this film twice already, lol, at an advance screening and 11/14 at a late night showing. Overall, a great film to check out this weekend and coming Holiday Season. An instant classic and must have DVD. P.S. The dance routine scene is great!
