‘Knives Out’ Movie Review

knives

I enjoyed this clever caper “who done it” murder mystery. The ensemble cast delivers with familiar faces such as other characters we love from other films such as Captain America, James Bond, Laurie Strode (Halloween) and others. The storyline is good enough to keep you wondering.

‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ Movie Review

Well, I’m new to this franchise. This is the first of the three that I’ve seen (I’ll try and catch the other two soon). If you want high impact action scenes, then this is the film for you. The storyline isn’t deep yet this is a reprisal for Vin so fans are thrilled that he’s back. Essentially, you have bad guys vs. good/bad guys and maybe a new team created. Shout out to Rory McCann who is “The Hound” on G.O.T. I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was great. #Detroiters, there’s a surprise for you!  A little cheesy but it is big screen entertainment. There should definitely be another film.

‘Miss You Already’ Movie Review

The end of the story is known at the beginning but it doesn’t take away from the journey of these two friends. Their lives have highs and lows and as real friends do…you do whatever it takes to mend the differences. The end of the movie is a tear jerker.

‘Tammy’ Movie Review

I’m glad I didn’t expect much before seeing this movie because I ended up liking it. I enjoyed the comedy yet the movie tried several times to delve into serious drama issues which was a hard transition in my opinion. There’s a really good ensemble cast who mostly have small roles yet I enjoyed seeing a few faves of mine. I am becoming a fan of Melissa McCarthy big screen films and let’s see if she can keep ’em coming. Not a great Summer popcorn flick yet it’s not bad.

‘The Way, Way Back’ Movie Review

What a fun coming up age Summer time movie to be enjoyed by all. The storyline and all the characters mesh quite well together and they should with this great ensemble cast. This is Steve Carell’s 2nd movie released this week and well worth checking out. Lots of laughs, enjoy. Some raunchy humor yet the movie is PG-13. Still in limited release; check your local theatre listings.
