‘Scoob’ Movie Review

scoob

Due to the pandemic, this nostalgic animated re-boot has been released directly to streaming platforms. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a Scooby movie or episode so some of the characters (villains) I had forgotten about. I did like how it was explained how Shaggy and Scooby first met. It’s decent for a nostalgic animated revisit that the family can enjoy together.

‘Good Boys’ Movie Review

good boys

Definitely laugh out loud funny! Not for children although the three main characters are teenagers (tweens). Lots of profanity yet a funny coming of age movie.

‘Booksmart’ Movie Review

booksmart

This is a coming of age movie yet the two lead characters are female besties. Their friendship is platonic; just before high school graduation both girls decide to party like its 1999 as they have been book worms their entire lives. Their fun gets wilder by the hour and the laughs never stop. Worth checking out. Definitely not for young children.

‘Keanu’ Movie Review

I expected silliness that bordered gross humor and it was all of that yet I liked it and it was laugh out loud funny. There’s nothing serious about the storyline as this film is just for laughs with the premise of the fascination of a kitten, Keanu.

‘Nebraska’ Movie Review (Oscar nominee)

Nebraska

I was unexpectedly pleased with this film. So much humor throughout and good from acting from the lead characters. June Squibb truly deserves her Best Supporting Actress nomination as does the film for Best Picture. Shot in black and white yet it truly gives you the feeling of a small town and the families that live here. It’s definitely an adventure for Woody (Bruce Dern) to “try” and collect a million dollars that he thinks he won.

‘The Lego Movie’ Movie Review

Lego banner

So much nostalgia with these popular toy pieces and funny characters (Batman/Will Arnett and Vitruvius/Morgan Freeman my faves) make this animated film a winner-winner! There’s lots of jokes for the young at heart…probably more directed for the adults (I think this film is for us, lol). A good family film to see.
