‘Smallfoot’ Movie Review

Small foot

I was looking forward to seeing this movie as trailers started a year ago! I had high hopes of an animated success and I’d say it’s a winner. It’s beautifully illustrated with humor for all ages. The yeti’s aren’t so scary yet it’s made known that their language is still a bunch of roars in English.

‘Night School’ Movie Review

night school

Kevin and Tiffany are probably two of the hottest comedic actors out there now so I thought the comedy would be an overkill. I was mistaken and neither one goes over the top with comedy with the characters having chemistry. Not the funniest of movies yet it was funny and entertaining to me. There’s a quick end credit scene with more dancing. I enjoyed the movie in Dolby.

‘The Wife’ Movie Review

wife the

Well, I wasn’t expecting a somewhat simple storyline to be all over the place with cold emotions towards one another…or at least from the wife as she pondered why she married her husband.  Like most independent movies this one has a quirky ending.

‘Fahrenheit 11/9’ Movie Review

farhe

Although controversial I didn’t expect to be so saddened by facts Michael collected to make this movie. Yes, I’m a Michigander so rehashing how the Flint water crisis started was depressing and made me angrier. It was engaging to say the least about this film. It wasn’t a financial blockbuster at the box office yet there’s something to learn by watching.

‘Life Itself’ Movie Review

I thought this was a rom-com yet it turned into something different yet engaging. There’s love, family, drama, sadness, dysfunction and even more. The storyline at times seems too twisty yet it ends well.

‘Assassination Nation’ Movie Review

a nation

Some type of a hack in the City of Salem leads to lots of incidents where a group of female friends must protect themselves. Not worth your money or time.

‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’ Movie Review

house clock

Based on the popular novel that I’m unfamiliar with, is this fantasy/horror movie about a boy joining in the family journey to retrieve a key in a house of PG horrors that aren’t so meek. In my opinion, not a good movie for children under 13. I saw it in Dolby.

‘Unbroken: Path to Redemption’ Movie Review

path

This film comes one year after the original film told the true story about a man’s journey to live no matter what and not be broken by the unrealistic torture he suffered after being lost at sea and then a p.o.w.  This is a faith based film.  The original film was great.  This one is slow yet worth learning about the journey.

‘A Boy. A Girl. A Dream’ Movie Review

boy girl

What happens when a boy and a girl meet and a dream is discussed? On election night 2016, a man and a woman meet, things become heated a few times in this long evening. It’s a poignant love story yet it’s slow…and probably meant to be.

The storyline is faith based with the main character facing loss and hardship.  As her faith is tested those around her learn their journey of faith, forgiveness and healing.
